I find it very interesting how people used to belive in so many gods. I guess since they weren't too advanced in any one subject that creating these gods was a very good explaination for all the phenomenons in the world. I belive that we don't like to not understand things because it will eventually inflict fear since we know nothing about a certain subject. These gods, however, intervened so much with them that this is one reason why they sacrificed so much for them. I know it's probably exaggerate, but when i read articles that mention that people would sacrifice 100 bulls for a god/goddess or something of the sort. I don't think I could ever beleive that there's higher beings that would actually be cruel and inflict fear.

[glow=blue,2,300]yes Libra, it is very interesting to see how beliefs are evolved from generation to generation... science and technology has revealed many mysteries that greek myths have created only to baffle those who seek the basis of the beliefs even to this day. I find it fascinating to learn more about these different myths and lores and the explainations that are interwoven among the fiction. (P.S. It's ok that you posted in each topic, I don't mind anyone posting wherever they feel the urge as long as it's within the framework of the topic in which they urge to post enjoy yourself hon, I'm truly enjoying the exchange of thoughts and opinions.)[/glow]

It's a shame that mythical objects such as the ~ Chair of Forgetfulness. (This chair is in the Underworld. It is known that on the occasion when Pirithous and Theseus descended to the Underworld so that the former could wed Persephone, Hades bade both of them to be seated on the Chair of Forgetfulness, where they were held fast by coils of serpents. Apparently Pirithous remained bound for ever, but Heracles 1, they say, brought Theseus up, and sent him to Athens). ~ couldn't be custom fitted for IDK, "Cujo" perhaps? Just a random thought.
