I saw Harry Potter 3 on opening night. Although I enjoyed the movie I thought it lacked the depth the book had. I wish they had spent the time to include details from the book but I can understand why there was a need to keep it shorter due to the attention span of the main audience (young children). Wouldn't it be nice if there was an extended version released on dvd or something

Thanks for starting the topic going Zen! I got distracted there for a few minutes..... I haven't had the chance to see this one yet, but I will eventually... I never read the books either (I usually opt to see the movies and then go back and read the books made from movies just to see how closely the two are related... also because I don't get alot of time to do any "recreational" reading as I call it anymore because of working and having to read work related stuff to keep up my certification...... oops! I'm rambling aren't I....... gotta go.... thanks again! )

i saw the movie twice, once at an imax theater. (if anyone wanted to see it an imax, it was just bigger and louder). but i really liked the second time i saw it. i had to get used to the changes the director made. but i think they should have added the last 40minutes they were missing. they could have added a lot more. but i enjoyed it. and can't wait for GoF.

Yeah I agree with you Zen.
I like it and everything but it lacked stuff that it shouldv'e had.
Like it was an awesome movie for those who didn't read the book but for those who did read it they know what was missing and what wasn't ya know. Like that whole Moony, Prongs, Wormtail, Padfoot thing they didn't explain it at all and they needed too.
I think it was good but not as good as the book.

that's what i thought. harry just assumed that lupin knew what the parchment was and everything? and that he never got the permision slip from siruis for harry to go to hogsmead the next year? but i'm over it now and i'm reading the 4th and 5th books again.

Funny you mentioned it Vegeta! I just got an e-mail from barnes and nobles that the dvd is being released on November 23rd...hopefully there will be deleted scenes and speecial features that would be awsome...anyway I am pre-ordering it so I'll have my very own copy and not have to fight for one!
