thought i'd put some yiddish words on here too...its hard to say this is the exact meaning for a certain word cause a lot of yiddish words are....well...confusing! bobkes: nothing (example- "Mom gave me bobkes") kakameyme: crazy (example "what a kakameyme idea!") farkatke(facacta): ridiculous (example "your hair is all farkatke) ferklempt: tired, bummed, bad mood (example "i'm getting farklempt") kvetch: complain (example "oh stop your kvetching!") goyim: non-jewish folk (example "the goyim are kakameyme!") mazel-tov: congrats (example"Mazel-tov on your report card") meshugine(meshugenuh): crazy person (example "what a meshugine) mitzva: a good deed (example "your money was such a good mitzva") shlep: drag (example "don't shlep your dirty shoes across my carpet!") nosh: snacking (example "i was noshing all day.") shmutz: dirt (example "let me spit on my finger to remove the shmutz from your cheek") tokhes: bottom (example "soft as a babies tokhes") nudnik: pest (example "bobby is such a nudnik!") shlemil: dope, fool (example "he's just a shlemil") kinda funny that a lot of yiddish words are an insult of some sort a quote from a childhood book (forgetting the name, i'll get back to ya on it) about a typical jewish family with a jewish mom "Put your gloves on! my hands are cold!" -mom to son
