What happened to Cole?
In the Centennial episode, Paige wanted to bring Phoebe some peace from Cole by devising a way to get past his protective shield and vanquish him. She created a potion that made her invisible and able to get inside his body and say a spell; she practiced this on Leo who was not too happy about it. That evening she went to Cole's apartment and tried it out, she thought that it worked until he reassembled and threw her out into the bay, where she sneezed. The next morning during Piper's home birthing practice/class, she sneezed and orbed again and the girls asked her why. She told them it was because she ended up in the water trying to vanquish Cole. They argue with her and tell her that she could have been killed and whatever it takes to vanquish him lies in the Power of Three. She also tells them that she thinks she should start looking for her own place. That night at P3 they are all celebrating Darryl's promotion sans Paige. Paige begins to walk towards them and Phoebe and Piper take her to the side and ask her why she showed up. During their conversation she feels the urge to sneeze again so Piper shuffles her into the back room. On the other side of town, Cole realizes that the only way that he would ever be happy would be to make sure that the Charmed ones were never reconstituted, and he and Phoebe were still married. He makes a deal with the avatars to become one of them, but not before he gets Phoebe back. So after he gets his powers he turns back time to before Paige ever met her sisters. But what he didn't know was that when he was altering reality, Paige just happened to sneeze her way into his new world. Paige reappears in the back room of P3, but when she leaves the room, the lights are out and there is no one there. A homeless man who has taken up residence in the club tries to attack her, and when she calls for the knife from his hand it doesn't come to her and she wonders what is up with her powers. The homeless man leaves and she calls for Leo, and wonders where everybody else is. Finally after calling Leo a few more times he orbs into the club and asks her who she is. She tells him that she is his sister-in-law and he doesn't believe her. The only way that he somewhat believes her is because she tells him that if she wasn't one of his charges then how did he hear her. She tells him to take her to Piper she'll know what to do. They orb to where Piper has frozen a Lazarus demon. Piper asks the demon where Shax is and when he tell her he doesn't know she beings to blow off pieces of his body. Paige turns to Leo and asks him why is Piper looking for Shax when they have already vanquished him. He tells her that Shax hasn't been vanquished and since Prue's death Piper has been on a conquest to find him and kill him herself. Piper blows up the demon and walks off. Paige runs after her and just as she is about to blow Paige up, Leo steps in and tells her not to. Paige realizes that she's not pregnant. Piper asks Leo what he wants and tells him that she no longer has an obligation to the elders. Paige then tells her the story that she is her long lost sister and she should be pregnant with Leo's child. Piper tells her that they are not married anymore and that she does not have another sister. Paige then tells her that the Lazarus is not really beaten because his remains need to be buried in a cemetery. When he pops back up Piper blows him up again, but she is still weary of Paige. So Paige tells Leo to take her to the manor. He tells her that she cannot go there anymore because it's off limits. Paige decides she will go herself then. Outside of the manor Cole and the avatar talk. The avatar tells him that he has assumed Belthazor's life in this reality and that he is not invulnerable anymore, and it would be best if he just left it alone and join them now. Cole decided against it and heads for the manor. He walks inside and sees no one. Then demons appear from everywhere and wish him a happy birthday. Along with the demons celebrating is The Seer. He asks here where Phoebe is and Phoebe comes walking down the stairs dressed for the party. Cole goes over to her to kiss her, but the problem is she hates him in this reality as much as she does in the other one. She asks Cole is he is nuts, and walks over to another guy. The Seer comes over to him and tells him that once Phoebe is pregnant they will not need her anymore and she will take over carrying his magical child. About this time Paige walks in and sees everything that is going on. Phoebe walks into the kitchen, and Paige follows her. She begins talking to Phoebe and tells her that she is her long lost half sister (although it sounds really far fetched), and how she's seen Piper. When she mentions Piper's name she seems to make a breakthrough with Phoebe and she asks how she is. Paige tells her that this whole world is completely wrong and she needs to come with her to find Piper. Phoebe has heard enough and calls for a guard. The guard is none other than Darryl who shoots at Paige. She runs out of the manor and calls for Leo who comes and orbs her out.....to the cemetery. He brings her to her own grave and tells her that the Source had her killed before the Elders could find her and before she was able to meet her sisters. She then puts two and two together and realizes that she is living this Paige's life then so is Cole. Piper shows up and tells them that although they need the power of 3 to vanquish Cole they can at least start with the power of two. Piper had taken Paige's advice and decided to bury the Lazarus' remains. She then asks Paige what else she needs and Paige tells her that she knows that Piper and Prue had worked on a vanquishing potion for Belthazor, and that they need some of his flesh. So Piper tells her that they will go get some. Back at the manor Cole walks in on Phoebe and another demon in bed. He quickly vanquishes him and Phoebe asks him if he's crazy. He then yells that it's not supposed to be like this and it's all wrong. Phoebe yells back that he is the only one getting anything out of this and she has no idea what it is. She walks out of the room and Cole goes after her, but he runs into Piper who throws him into the cabinet. Leo and Paige orb in and Paige gets the flesh needed for the potion. Phoebe walks in just as Cole is about to kill Piper and she stops him. They orb out and Cole hits Phoebe. He then calls for his demons to go after Phoebe's sisters. They ask him if he's sure about the sister thing and he tells them yes. Phoebe then realizes that Paige was telling the truth. At P3 Piper and Paige make the potion and Piper asks her just how close they really are. And Paige tells them that they are close enough to have killed Shax and that she and Phoebe are her birthing coaches for their very magical baby. When the potion is ready they head to the manor. Phoebe comes running down the stairs and tells them that they have to leave. Cole is waiting and hits Leo, Paige, and Piper with an energy ball and takes the potion out of Paige's hand. Paige regains consciousness and tells Phoebe to hold onto Piper's hand. She does and the power of three comes back; Paige gets her powers. She orbs the vanquishing potion out of Cole's hand and is getting ready to throw it when Phoebe takes it from her. Cole tried to talk her out of throwing it and Phoebe tells him that it just wasn't meant to be. She throws the potion and Cole is vanquished, thus sending Paige back to her reality. She orbs into the manor and tells Piper and Phoebe what has happened. They go to Cole's apartment and she proves to them that he is gone for good. Phoebe once again says that she guesses it wasn't meant to be. Paige tells Cole "Happy Birthday," they get on the elevator and they leave the apartment.
