The Transit of Venus is occuring this morning (Sight of the century: Venus crosses sun) msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/040206/040206_venustransit_bcol3p.standard.jpgLast show was in 1882 Transits of Venus occur twice — eight years apart — about every century, when the sun, Venus and Earth precisely line up. The 2004 Perseid Meteor Shower: The Perseid meteor shower peaks this year on August 11th and 12th. Forecasters say the display could be unusually good: moonlight won't spoil the show, and an extra ribbon of meteoroids in space since the Civil War will cross Earth's path on August 11th.
