TEASER
INT. Manor - Kitchen - Day
Piper and Leo prepare breakfast, Leo's a little exasperated and they're in mid-conversation. Leo telling her he doesn't know what more proof she wants, and she told him it sounded great. Piper admits it does, and Leo asks what the problem is. Piper: "Burning toast." Leo: "What?" Piper; "Your toast, it's burning." She looks to the toaster, where smoke's drifting out. Leo rushes over to rescue what's left of it. Piper continues: "There, that's it. That's the problem. This bright, shining future the Avatars promised us…will it have burnt toast?" Leo tells her to be serious. She says she is…the Avatars said they'd bring forth a better way, get rid of all problems…and she wants to know exactly what they're getting rid of. Leo tells her he already told her, demons and evil is what they'll get rid of, then he asks her if she really wants a demon-free world or not. Piper says she does, she'd be crazy not to, but if they're going to help the Avatars, she'd like more details. Leo asks what. Piper says she's not sure, then asks if all conflict will be gone, what happens to trouble makers or are there no trouble makers because everyone's so happy. Leo admits he doesn't have all the answers. Piper: "Exactly. How can they expect me to help remake a world I don't know anything about?" Leo tells her to ask Phoebe, since she's seen it. Piper: "And I haven't even mentioned what the Avatars did to Kyle's parents." Leo says they didn't kill his parents, that while Kyle believes that, it's simply not true. Then he tells her that sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Piper says she knows, but she just wants it to be a little less of a leap. They hear the front door slam open and Leo glances at Piper, asking if she's expecting anyone. Piper tells him no, then call out, "Phoebe? Paige?" With no answer coming, they both hurry out of the kitchen.
INT. Manor - Foyer/Main Hall - Day (continuous)
The two of them enter to find the front door open, but no one in sight. Piper asks if Leo left the door open when he got the paper. Leo tells her he didn't. Brody yells at Leo as he leaps out from behind them. Leo spins just as Brody throws the Avatar vanquishing potion at him. Leo winces, bracing himself for the impact, but then he notices the room's been frozen, including Piper, and the vial hangs in mid-air. Alpha and Beta materialize. Leo starts to thank them, but Alpha stops him with: "That's twice Brody's tried to kill you, Leo. We need to figure out how to help him." Leo: "First, unfreeze Piper. My days of keeping secrets from her are over." Alpha nods and gestures, unfreezing Piper, who panics, "Leo!"…then, she notices the room, "Oh…did I do this?" Le: "No, they did. They saved me." He nods towards the Avatars and Piper glances from a frozen Brody to the Avatars. Piper, about Brody, "He was trying to kill you?" Beta confirms, adding that they can't let it happen again and Alpha says that if he kills even one Avatar, it might weaken the whole collective enough so that they won't be able to effect The Change. Piper: "Yeah, about that…" she nods towards Brody, "Does he know something I don't? 'Cause it's obvious not everyone's ready for this Change or Better Way or whatever you call it." Alpha, sensing her discomfort, "Including yourself, perhaps?" Piper says she just wants to know what she's getting into, questioning if they even have a right to make the decision for the rest of the world. Alpha says that they might not, but she has to come to that truth on her own. Beta tells her that whatever she decides, she must decide soon as Brody isn't the only problem, "As we speak, Zankou is mobilizing the demon world to move against us." Piper says they've dealt with demons before. Alpha: "Not one like Zankou. He's the one demon feared by every other demon in the Underworld." Leo: "But now they're so desperate for survival they've turned to him to save them." Piper: "First things first…What do we do about him? Have Paige talk to him?" Leo says he thinks they need more than a talk. Alpha restates that time is running out, they have to help him now if they want this opportunity. Piper: "Yeah, you made your point. Maybe if the whole family sat down with him, talked to him…" Alpha: "I just hope he listens." With that, Alpha plucks the frozen vial out of mid-air and the Avatars vanish. A second later, Brody unfreezes and glances where the vial should be. "What? What'd you do with it?!" Piper: "Had to make sure you won't do something you'll regret." Brody yells that she has no idea what she's just done and storms out the door. Piper and Leo look to each other and Piper finally calls, "Paige!" A moment later, she orbs in, arms piled high with groceries. "Hey…what's going on?" Piper, dropping the bomb, "Your boyfriend just tried to kill Leo."

ACT I
INT. Manor - Living Room - Day
Paige: "I told Kyle you were an Avatar at breakfast. He seemed okay with it." Piper: "Be nice if you could've told US you told him, since it's obviously an issue." Leo says it shouldn't be. Paige: "I know the pitch, Leo. I've been hearing it for weeks. Your world sounds great, but it's being promised by killers so forget it." Leo says the Avatars couldn't have done it, not to mention the fact that he was five when they died, so he doubts Kyle even remembers what really happened. Paige says that whether he remembers or not, she has to do something because right now, Kyle's out of control. Phoebe enters, overhearing the last bit, "Talking about Kyle?" Piper asks how she knew. Phoebe says she called him looking for Paige and got an earful. She also adds that she thinks she has a solution to his Avatar problem. She wants them to send Kyle and Paige back to the day his parents died, to find out if they really killed him. Leo: "You mean like when we sent Paige back?" Phoebe: "Exactly. It helped you move on, didn't it? Hopefully, it'll so the same for Kyle." Paige says it won't if he finds out the Avatars did kill his parents. Phoebe: "If that turns out to be the case, then we'll kill the Avatars, help him move on that way. Paige, the sooner we help him find the truth, the sooner we can all move on." Piper: "Move on to what?" Phoebe: "To the future the Avatars promised us, to the one I foresaw in my vision." Piper: "Yeah, well, unfortunately, we all didn't foresee that, Phoebe." Phoebe says they can…if they switch powers. Piper: "Excuse me??" Phoebe: "Just long enough for you to see it, too…to want it just as much. It's everything we've ever dreamed of, Piper, it's beautiful. And I want it - for all of us." Leo: "Well?" Piper: "Alright, if the Avatars are exonerated, and if I see what Phoebe saw, then…I'll go along with it." Paige: "Wait, what if Zankou attacks while I'm gone? You'll be down a power." Piper: "On the other hand, if you don't help Kyle fast, I might be down a husband."
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Laygan: "Zankou, sorry to disturb you, if it's a bad time I can…" Zankou asks what he wants. Laygan asks when things are going to move along, the Avatars are close to wiping all demons off the face of the earth. Zankou says they aren't a problem. Laygan questions him the demons brought him out of the eternal vault to save them from the Avatars and now they're not a problem? And he can see where there might be confusion on their part. Zankou says the Charmed Ones are who they need to focus on, the Avatars need their power to get rid of all evil. Laygan asks how he knew. Zankou says he sensed it, all they have to do is kill the sisters and the Avatars are history. Laygan: "Destroying the Charmed Ones, it always sounds easy but…nobody's done it so far." Zankou: "That's because I never got the chance. But I only need to 'sense' one more thing about them and demons will finally be safe." Laygan: "That being?" Zankou: "When's the best time to kill them."
INT. Brody's Apartment - Day
Paige asks him if he wants to get killed. Brody looks up from a bunch of notebooks, still deep in Avatar mode as Paige continues, "Because that could've easily happened." Brody says it was a chance he had to take, since "The man's an Avatar." Paige: "He's also my brother-in-law!" Brody: "And I'd try to kill him again if I could." Paige: "Kyle, even if the Avatars did kill your parents, it's not like Leo was there. You can't hold him responsible." Brody: "It was the only way I could get to them." Paige: "So you'd murder somebody who was innocent to get your revenge? Guess what, that makes you no better than whoever killed your mom and dad." Brody: "Except I know who killed them. I was there." Paige: "No, Kyle, you THINK you know." Brody: "Oh, so now you don't believe me?" Paige says she's not sure what to believe, but at the rate he's going, he'll die before he can find out what really happened. Brody says her sisters have obviously gotten to her. Paige: "So? They just want the truth. Which is more than you want. This…demand for revenge, its replaced everything else in your life, hurt everyone. Your friends, your family…even me." Brody says he'd never hurt her. Paige: "You did today, Kyle." Brody: "Well, I don't know what else to do." Paige: "I do. I want us to take a trip together."

INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Phoebe; "You ready to do this?" Piper; "I don't know…whenever we fool around with our powers, it usually doesn't end well. In fact, it NEVER ends well." Phoebe tells her to trust her, it's worth the risk. Their discussion is interrupted when Leo suddenly orbs in. "Good news. Providing Kyle is willing, the Avatars have agreed to send him back to the past." Phoebe: "They get the easy job. Try dealing with a stubborn sister in the present." Piper, to Leo: "She's upset that I don't wanna switch powers to see her vision." Phoebe: "I didn't just see it, I FELT it." Piper: "Maybe so, but…" Phoebe: "I'm talking a future without demons, Piper Without…stress. Where your boys and my little girl - I got to hug her, hold her in my arms - where they never ever have to worry about saving the world from evil. That can be their future…a future I've always wanted. And it's definitely one you've always wanted…" Piper: "You got that all from one vision?" Phoebe says she did. Piper nods and sees Leo smiling out of the corner of her eye. She turns to him, "What are you so happy about?" Leo claims it's nothing. Piper says she's not convinced yet and they don't even know if Brody's going to agree. Brody: "I am." They turn to see him, and Paige, who've just entered the attic as Brody continues, "If only to prove to you what really happened to my parents." Phoebe says it's great and that Kyle won't be sorry. Brody says he just wants to get on with it. Leo: "Fine. First, let me explain what's going to happen…" Brody, to Paige, "Wait…HE'S doing this?" Paige: "Yeah, he and the other Avatars." Brody tells them that in that case, they can forget it. Piper tells him that she nor her sisters have that kind of power. Brody asks why he should go if the Avatars are just going to change things to make themselves look innocent and Leo says it's his past, he'll know if it's been messed with. Brody: "And I've got the word of an Avatar in that. Sorry, no dice." Paige says if he's right and it was the Avatars, they will be the first ones at his side to take the Avatars down. Piper agrees with Paige and Brody decides to do it afterall. Leo: "Great. Now, remember, you'll need to get to the place your parents died." Paige: "When does the trip end?" Leo: "When you find the truth." Paige: "Okay, let's do this." Leo holds out his arms and concentrates. A time portal appears against the nearest wall. Paige hugs her sisters, then turns to Brody, "Hope you don't have vertigo." With that, Brody steps into the portal and is instantly swept away. Paige takes a deep breath and follows. The portal disappears in a flash.
EXT. Alley (Winter 1980) - Day
We see the end of the portal in the middle of a vacant alley and a beat later, Paige tumbles out. She orients herself, "Oh boy…hyperspeed head rush." She looks to the side and asks, "You okay?" Brody, still a little dazed by the process of going back, "First, we end up in the 30's, now 1980…" Paige glances at some graffiti on the side of a building, "Journey Rocks!", and says it's officially confirmed, they're in the right place, then mentions, "I promise, someday we'll just go to Hawaii like other couples." Brody looks around, still a little lost, and Paige asks him what's wrong. Brody: "Something's not right." He starts to head out of the alley.
EXT. New York Street (Winter 1980) - Day
Brody almost runs into a break-dancing teen as 80's hip-hop music blares from his boom box. Christmas lights and decorations have been strung between the lamp posts on Broadway and 116th. Passers-by hurry, bundled in winter coats and scarves. Across the street, a Salvation Army Santa rings his bell for donations as 70's cars drive past. Paige asks him what's wrong. Brody, again, can only say it isn't right. Paige asks what he means. Brody: "This isn't where my parents died. This is Columbia University. It's where they TAUGHT." Paige: "Are you…" Brody: "Of course I'm sure. They died at a warehouse near JFK, at 7:52 at night. According to the coroner's report." Paige: "Well, then maybe there's been some kind of mistake…" She sees a newspaper box and crosses over to it to peer in through the window. She sees a New York Post and reads the headline, "Ronald Reagan is Man of the year" and then sees the date, December 28, 1980. Paige reads the date and asks Kyle if that's right. Brody confirms that it is, then says they have to get to the airport. Paige: "Easy, we've still got plenty of time. Besides, there must be a reason you're starting here." Brody, skeptical, "Yeah, maybe they want me to just miss seeing it…but I'm not going to." He calls for a taxi. One drives past, with an ad on the roof for The Empire Strikes Back, "Now Playing". Paige says she always wanted to see that…then off his glare, she adds "Sorry." Brody starts walking, looking for another cab as Paige says she didn't realize his parents died during Christmas. Brody says it's the first one he remembers. Paige: "Yeah? Do you remember what you got?" Brody: "Sure, a bunch of books, a Luke Skywalker action figure…oh, and a Rubic's cube, it just came out." Paige: "Your parents gave a Rubic's cube to a five year old?" Brody: "I liked puzzles." He notices a cab pulling up to the curb and an attractive blond woman, Ruth, gets out as Kyle runs up to her. The moment they see each other though, they both stop in their tracks as if they've seen a ghost. Ruth: "Oh my God…" She faints to the ground as Kyle lunges for her, just barely catching her before her head hits the sidewalk. Paige rushes up, "What happened?" Before he can answer, a five year old little boy, his younger self, scrambles out of the cab, "Mommy? Mommy!!" Brody turns to see the little boy and hesitates before he reassures: "Don't worry, she's okay, Kyle. She just fainted." Paige: "KYLE?" Brody: "Yeah…and that's…mom."
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Phoebe slaps a piece of paper into Piper's hand and takes a couple steps back. "Alright, let's do this." Piper, having second thoughts, "I still say we should wait till Paige comes back. Just as an added safeguard." Phoebe: "Piper, you can't let some stupid demon keep you from seeing this future." Piper says she can still see it, just later. Phoebe: "If a demon attacks, I'll foresee it and you'll blast him. Or you'll foresee it and I'll blast him. Either way, we're fine. Now shut up and read." They both hold up their papers and start chanting. Immediately, two distinctive clusters of swirling white lights rise out each of the girls just as Zankou shimmers in and hurls two energy balls at the sisters. Phoebe yells for Piper and they both duck for cover. The two energy balls barely missing them. But the blast sends both clusters of white lights out two different windows. Piper and Phoebe, seeing that, "Uh-oh…" Piper: "Leo!!"

EXT. Street (Manor ) - Day
A flatbed truck, driven by Ronnie, a construction worker, drives by when BAM! He's hit by one of the white clusters, causing him to shudder…almost losing control of the truck.
EXT. Denise's House - Front Door - Day
A nervous shut-in, Denise, braves the big, bad world to open the door and pick up her morning paper when she hears a whooshing sound and looks up just in time to see the other white cluster fly into her, knocking her down.
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Zankou prepares another energy ball then glances over at Phoebe and Piper, huddled behind a couch. "I knew you'd be vulnerable, but this? Who ever thought killing the Charmed Ones would be so anti-climactic?" He reaches back to hurl the ball when Leo suddenly orbs in behind him. Leo blasts him with a lightening bolt, dissipating the energy ball and sending Zankou flying. Zankou looks to Leo, then wisely shimmers out. Leo turns to Piper and Phoebe, "What happened? Why didn't you fire back?" Piper, pissed, "Well, tell him!" Phoebe, sheepish: "We, uh…sorta lost our powers, I think…"

ACT II
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Piper gestures to see if her powers have returned, they haven't. Piper: "Nothin'. So much for trying to call a witches powers." Still ticked off, she throws a disgusted glance at Phoebe. "I said I was sorry. I just wanted you to see what I saw." Piper: "Well now I can see we might die. And I don't even need a premonition to know that." She turns to Leo, "What else we got?" Leo says they could try scrying…their powers are still alive. Piper: "What do you mean they're alive?" Leo: "They're always flowing through you. When they were expelled, they didn't just whither away, they went in search of another…vessel. In this case, probably two vessels." Phoebe: "So we're looking for two people?" Leo: "Two very, very surprised people." Piper and Phoebe each grab a scrying crystal and a map. Piper: "Okay, but if this doesn't work we need to bring Paige back…" Leo says it's impossible, the rules were that Paige and Kyle can only come back once they see what really happened. Piper asks if he can change that. He tells them no, but even if he could, he asks if they really want them back in the state Kyle's in. Piper's look to Phoebe says it all, they don't. Then, Piper touches on Zankou, saying it's weird how he said he knew they'd be vulnerable, asking how he knew. Leo said he could be sensing them. Piper asks if it's like eavesdropping. Leo says they wouldn't hear every word, but they'd get the general idea of what was going on. Phoebe; "Okay, only slightly creepy. I'm starting to see why the Source locked him away." Pi[per; "In which case, you definitely need to get the kids to Magic School." Leo: "And leave you unprotected? No, no way." Piper: "Phoebe and I'll both be in public. Demons never attack there. Plus we can call for you if we have to." Phoebe's crystal suddenly drops, "Got somebody. Just off Union Street." Piper: "Okay, now, where are my powers?" At that moment, they hear a muffled explosion. They share a glance and Piper turns to look out the attic window, across the street. They see Denise's house, as a flash lights up the living room window, followed by another muffled explosion and a scream. Shortly thereafter, they see another flash, hear another explosion, and another scream. Piper: "Nevermind. I think I just found them."
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Zankou announces "They found them…" Laygan: "Their powers? So we've missed our chance." Zankou: "Not necessarily." Laygan: "With all due respect, you said you knew when the Charmed Ones would be at their most vulnerable." Zankou: "They were vulnerable. I just didn't foresee Leo coming to their rescue." Laygan: "Absolutely. Still, some of us were wondering if we shouldn't try something different. Maybe forget the sisters and go after the Avatars." Zankou: "Risk a direct confrontation? With their power? We wouldn't stand a chance in hell." Laygan: "Some of us think we would." Zankou takes a beat, sensing, then turns to Laygan, blasting a stream of buzzing particles, which sweep past Laygan and engulf two of the other demons, vanquishing them in a fiery blast. Zankou: "There. Now they don't think that anymore." Laygan: "If I could bring up one more concern? Even if the girls don't have their powers, I don't see how we get past the Elder." Zankou: "Except that he's not an Elder anymore. What I saw and what I sense are powers beyond those of a mere Elder." Laygan: "Well, whatever he is, we can't kill the sisters as long as they can call for him." Zankou says he's going to make sure they can't call for him.
INT. Brody's Parents' Office (1980) - Day
Ruth rests in an armchair, taking a sip from a glass of water. Paige and Brody hover nearby. Little Kyle: "Is my mom gonna be okay?" Brody assures him she'll be fine. Paige asks Ruth if there's anyone they can call for her. Jack: "No need, he's right here." Brody's dad enters the room and Brody reflexively asks, "Dad?" but quickly changes it, directing his comment to Little Kyle, "I mean, is that your dad?" Paige whispers a "careful" to Brody. Jack: "One of the T.A.'s told me you fainted." Ruth says she's fine, she just had a little fainting spell. Jack: "Fainting spell?" Ruth says she's fine, she was just startled, "He's the spitting image of my father." Brody smiles as Jack studies him for a beat. Paige gets nervous and explains it away as just being a coincidence. Jack thanks them for helping her, then extends his hand, introducing himself. Brody takes his hand, not sure what to say, as Paige thinks fast on her feet, "Kevin…Kevin Matthews. I'm Paige…and we're late for the movies." Jack asks what they plan on seeing and Paige, remembering the sign on the cab, "The Empire Strikes Back". Little Kyle asks if he can go. Ruth says he can't, he's too young, but Brody assures him that he'll like it. Paige shoots him a look and says they have to get going. The phone rings and Jack excuses himself to answer the phone. Brody, not wanting to go, turns to his younger self, seeing his book, he asks if he got it for Christmas. Little Kyle says he did. Ruth tells them he likes reading about all the Egyptian kings and queens. Then asks, "What's your favorite story?" Brody/Little Kyle, at the same time, "The mummy's curse." Ruth looks at them, and Brody, "I'm sure it's every boy's favorite story. I mean, my folks read it to me all the time." Ruth: "Well, then you had god parents." Brody: "Yeah, I know" Paige: "Anyway…we have to go…" Jack comes back in, saying they do, too. "That was Customs. The manifest for the Cairo shipment is missing. They say they're gonna destroy everything if we don't go down there right now and identify the stuff." Ruth: "Those are priceless artifacts. They can't just destroy them." Jack says that apparently they can and they will.

EXT. New York Street (Winter 1980) - Day
As they exit the building, Paige asks if Brody's okay. "What do you think?" Paige says she knows how much it hurts. Brody: "All my life, I used to think if I could just talk to them one more time…five minutes…even that would be enough. It wasn't." Paige reminds him they came back to see who killed his parents, not to save them. Brody says he can't just sit back and watch them die. Paige tells him he has to, he can't change the past. Brody starts walking away.
EXT. San Francisco Street (Present) - Day
Several people have gathered on the street to watch as items are thrown out the second story window of a brownstone, landing at the feet of Ronnie, now half-crazed. He squints up at his now ex-girlfriend, Allison, who's standing in the window. He pleads to her "I swear, baby, I didn't hire a Private Eye to follow you!" Allison calls him a liar and tosses down more of his belongings. Ronnie: "I'M the liar? You're the one having the affairs!" Allison: "Which you wouldn't have known about if you'd trusted me!" Ronnie: "I DID! I told you already! I don't know how I know all this stuff, I'm just…seeing things." Allison: "Well now you can see your ass outta my life!" Phoebe pulls up to the curb and hops out just as Ronnie picks up another item. He gasps, having another premonition, then drops the item quickly, "Phil, too? You slept with my best friend? Please, God, what's happening to me?" Phoebe walks up, knowing she has her man, "Hi, you don't know me, but I know you've been seeing certain things…" Ronnie: "Oh man, don't tell me you're sleeping with her, too?" Phoebe; "No, no, no, I'm here to help you." Ronnie: "I need a shrink, lady, not a do-gooder. So beat it, okay?" He looks up and sees…"Oh no, not the bowling trophy…" Too late, Allison hurls it down and it smashes on the pavement. Heartbroken, Ronnie picks up one of the pieces, then gasps again as the premonition drives him to his knees, "Please, not again…" Phoebe: "Don't try to stop it. Just let it happen. It'll be over in a sec." Ronnie obeys and a second later, he relaxes. Ronnie asks who she is. Phoebe: "Who am I? Here's the short version. I'm a witch, you've got my powers and if you don't come with me, a demon's probably gonna kill you." Ronnie: "Fine. Let's go." They get into her car as more items fly out the window.
EXT. Golden Gate Bridge - Day
Zankou stares through a flickering force field. Odin: "Why should we trust you to tell us the truth?" Zankou: "You shouldn't. That's the downside of force fields. They can protect you from demons, but not from demon lies." Sandra: "I say we go. He can't be trusted, he says so himself." Odin: "Let's just hear him out. We only agreed to meet you because you said you had information about the Avatars." Zankou: "About ONE of them, yes." Sandra: "One? Who?" Zankou: "Who? How about your not-so-golden boy…Leo. Former Elder, now confirmed Avatar." Sandra: "He's lying. Leo would never betray us like that." Zankou: "There seems to be a lot of things your Leo would never do, but he ends up doing them anyway." Odin asks if he has any proof. Zankou says he saw his powers, more to the point, he felt the powers, "And they made yours look…feeble." Sandra: "Why tell us now? What do you hope to gain?" Zankou: "My life. And those of my fellow demons. The one thing demons and Elders have in common is the threat from the Avatars. If they come to power, you'll be out and we'll be gone. This way we might at least inflict some damage, maybe even stop them altogether." Odin: "Alright. We've heard you out. Leave now." Zankou shimmers out and Odin and Sandra share a look, not sure what to believe.
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Piper and Denise are in the middle of the attic, now half rubble, Denise: "Demons? What do you mean, demons? They actually exist?" Piper: "Yes. Now if you'd just calm down…" Denise: "Stay away from me!" Suddenly, a lamp explodes next to Piper. "And stop doing that. Or else I'll never be able to help you. Just relax, sit down…" Denise takes a couple steps towards a chair when Phoebe and Ronnie suddenly burst through the door, "Hey, guess what…" Spooked, Denise gestures, freezing Phoebe and Ronnie. Piper: "That would be the other power I told you about. Here, now try a small gesture. Don't push too hard." Denise tries and they unfreeze as Phoebe continues, "I found. Hi, I'm Phoebe. And you are…" Denise: "Really scared." Piper: "This is Denise. And you're…?" Ronnie: "How about we can the small talk and just do this?" Phoebe: "Meet Ronnie. Anyway, I'll get the potion. Get this show on the road." Phoebe hurries across the room and Denise, already less nervous, turns to Piper, "What are you going to do, exactly?" Piper: "First a spell, then you have to drink a potion. It'll pull the powers right out of you. Very simple, very safe." Phoebe: "Then you can go home and never, ever tell anybody about this. Sound good?" Denise: "So…have you guys always been demon-fighting witches?" Piper: "Pretty much, yeah." Denise: "Explains all the noise. I thought you just threw a lot of parties." Phoebe; "No, that was mostly just us fighting evil." She hands both Denise and Ronnie a vial. "Okay, let's drink up. Down the hatch." Ronnie stops just before taking a sip, curious, he asks if they'd ever used their powers for something other than fighting demons, like winning the lottery. Phoebe says her premonitions are kind of bigger than that. Ronnie asks what's bigger than winning the lotto. Denise asks: "How about getting back at people who are mean to you? Ever do that?" Piper explains about personal gain and possible exposure saying those are "really, really bad in the witch world." Phoebe: "Okay guys, drink up. Time's a wastin'." She tries to gently push the vial up to Denise's lips. Denise: "I'm talking REALLY mean. Like say, an ex-husband who cleaned out your savings account, ran off with his secretary and left you mortgaged to the hilt?" Ronnie; "Yeah, you guys could be rich and get revenge on anybody you wanted." Phoebe says they couldn't. Denise says she doesn't believe them, and Ronnie adds that he doesn't either. He looks to Denise, "What do you say we go get rich?" Denise: "Okay, but only if we can blow up my ex-husband afterwards." Phoebe tries to explain about personal gain and exposure again, but her words fall on deaf ears as Ronnie an Denise start to head out. Piper tries to make one final plea to them, but Denise turns and gestures, freezing Piper and Phoebe in their tracks. Ronnie smiles, impressed, "Something tells me this is gonna be a lot of fun," and the twosome exit.

Leo orbs in, finding the frozen sisters. He taps Piper and gestures to unfreeze them, as Piper finishes, "…leave this house!" They both look around for a beat, confused, surprised to see Leo there. He asks them what happened and Piper and Phoebe explain what happened. Leo: "And you couldn't stop them?" Piper: "Kinda hard, Leo. Given the fact they're now US." Leo: "Don't they know the risks? Personal gain? Exposure?" Piper says they told them, "but apparently when there's bastard ex-husbands involved, those things are a small price to pay." Phoebe says they've found them once, so they can do it again. They both grab their scrying crystals and maps as Leo says" Even if you find them, what's to stop them from telling you to take a hike?" Piper; "Truthfully? Absolutely nothing." Leo looks heavenwards and frowns. Piper: "The Elders?" Leo wonders aloud as to what they could want. Phoebe: "Who knows. Maybe they finally found out you were an Avatar." Leo: "Well, I can't leave now. It's too dangerous with Zankou out there and you guys without your powers." Phoebe: "We've got blasting potions and you're just a call away. I say go. Providing Piper says it's okay." Piper: "All right, fine, go. Just get your butt back here as soon as you can." Leo nods and orbs out. A second later, both the sisters' crystals drop at the same time. "Lake Tahoe?"
INT. Airport Warehouse (1980) - Late Afternoon
Paige and Brody peek out from behind a stack of pallets and crates, well hidden from his parents. Jack: "you wanna be extra careful with that one." Brody pulls out his gun, clearly anxious to do something. Paige tells him to put it away. They see Little Kyle sitting on one of the unopened crates, playing with his Rubic's cube, as Ruth turns to him, "You want to get something to drink, sweetie? It's gonna be a while." He shakes his head no and an agent pulls out a big plastic tray from the crate and removes some packing, revealing a dozen vials of the anti-Avatar potion. Another agent asks Jack what's in them. Jack: "I'll tell you what I THINK it is." Brody reacts, stunned, dreading seeing the potion. He turns to Paige, bitterly recounting, "They thought it was some sort of Egyptian healing balm. I went through their journals. They never knew what it was, what it could do. They were completely innocent." Paige tells him that whether they were innocent or not, it doesn't matter. Brody: "So, what…? I just sit here and wait to watch my parents die again?" Paige looks down, at a loss as to what to say to him, then a long beat of silence is interrupted by Little Kyle: "Did you bring my soda?" Stunned, Paige and Brody look behind them to see Little Kyle standing there, three feet away. Paige asks what he's doing there. Little Kyle says he got bored and wanted to explore, then asks what they're doing there. Paige tries to think of a reasonable excuse, but Brody takes over, saying they just came to see how he was doing. Then he asks if his younger self would like to sit with them. Brody lifts him onto a couple of crates, out of view of his parents. Brody: "now you can be like King Tut. Have your own throne." Little Kyle: "Cool!" Paige pulls Brody aside, "I know what you're doing. You can't keep him from seeing what happens to your mom and dad." Brody says it doesn't change the past, they'll still die. Paige: "But it's seeing them die that made you what you are. If you hadn't suffered that pain, you might never have gone after the Avatars, never explored the supernatural…never met me. And most importantly - never taken this trip where you're finally gonna find out who killed them." Brody: "He's just a little boy, Paige." Jack calls for Kyle just then. Little Kyle says he's going to stay and hide. Brody, not liking it, realizes what Paige said it true and tells him he has to go. Then, he tells Little Kyle that he can't tell his parents that they're there. Kyle asks why. Brody gently lifts him down from his 'throne' and kneels so he's at his younger self's eye level and explains, "You know how you've always thought you've got an imaginary friend watching over you? Making sure you're okay?" Kyle says yes and Brody continues, "Well, that's me, Kyle. That's always been our secret, right? Something nobody else knows but us?" Little Kyle takes a moment, then agrees not to tell and heads back out to his parents.
INT. Casino - Night
A waitress approaches the craps table and sets two drinks down in front of Ronnie and Denise…who have a huge pile of chips in front of them. Ronnie picks up the dice, lets out a small gasp, then confidently calls out, "Five thousand on the 'don't pass'. Hundred each for the dealers." He plunks down the chips and flips three dealers hundred dollar chips, then rolls the dice. "Three craps, line away" calls the dealer. Denise squeals with delight at the winning roll. Denise: "Yes! Oh my God…" She watches the boxman replace the five grand chips with ten grand chips. She picks them up and sets them on the pile. Ronnie glances at Denise, both having a ball. Ronnie says he feels kinda bad that they haven't had a chance to blow up her ex. Denise says it's okay, they'll do it tomorrow, then they can blow up his ex-girlfriend. Ronnie, touched, "You'd do that for me?" Denise: "You bet!" Ronnie turns back to the table as the stickman slides six dice to him. He picks up two of them, lets out another small gasp, and slings a pile of chips onto the center, "Ten thousand dollars, hard eight." He holds his fist with the dice up to Denise's mouth, "Blow…" Off her confused look, he adds; "For luck…" She smiles, blows, and he rolls…two fours. Craps dealer: "Hard eight. HARD EIGHT! We got a shooter!" Piper: "I believe that was your last roll, Diamond Jim." Ronnie and Denise turn to see Piper and Phoebe. Denise: "What are you doing here?" Piper: "Well, you think we'd stay frozen forever? Come on, let's go, fun's over." Ronnie: "Fun's barely started. Unless you want my friend Denise here to put the whammy on you again." Phoebe: "She wouldn't dare. Not in front of all these people." Denise: "Wanna try me?" Piper: "Great. NOW she's fearless." Phoebe: "I'll make you a deal. You try getting one more premonition, then we'll get outta your hair." Piper: "Phoebe…" Phoebe: "No, Piper, I know what I'm doing." She turns to Ronnie, almost daring him, "What do you say?" Ronnie: "Depends. Will it win me a bunch more money?" Phoebe; "Not a cent. But I promise what you'll see is better than anything this casino has to offer."

They crowd into the room and shut the door. Phoebe turns to Ronnie, "Alright, close your eyes and concentrate." He does and she reaches out and takes his hand. As she does, a faint white glow starts to pulse between their hands. Phoebe: "Do you see it? Everything's so peaceful, beautiful, it's all there…you see it, Ronnie?" He nods, clam, and Denise turns to Piper, worried, "What's she doi…" but Piper quiets her with, "Shh, it's okay." Phoebe; "That's it, Ronnie. You're doing great. Hold onto it. Hold on…" A smile crosses his face then he finally opens his eyes. "Is that real?" Phoebe: "It can be. But it won't happen if we don't get our powers back." Ronnie; "In that case, they're all yours." Denise: "What about our money? We need to get back to the tables, Ronnie." She starts back but Ronnie stops her, gently cupping her elbow, "We've made enough to get you back on your feet, Denise. It's time to go home." Something in his calm, straightforward manner relaxes Denise.
EXT. Golden Gate Bridge - Night
Odin: "For the last time, are you an Avatar??" Leo: "Why? What makes you think I am?" Odin, disappointed, "That answer right there, Leo. You either are or you aren't." Sandra: "Leo, please. The truth." Leo: "You saw the vision. Why wouldn't I jump at the chance for that world? Where my family, all families, can finally be safe? Don't you want that? A world without good and evil?" Odin: "Leo, the world requires checks and balances. Evil is the price we pay for having good." Leo: "Well, I'm no longer willing to pay that price." Odin: "I was hoping it wouldn't come to this." Sandra: "Last chance, Leo. Please think carefully about your decision." Leo says he already has. Odin: "So be it." With that, he solemnly nods to the other Elders and they suddenly turn their massive firepower on their fallen brother…blasting Leo with a barrage of lightening bolts, sending him flying against the bridge's tower. Bolt after bolt hits him, but he remains on his feet, absorbing each blow. Odin finally signals for a halt. "But…you should be dead." Leo: "I would've been if I were still an Elder. Face it, the fate of the world is no longer in your hands." A resigned Odin turns to his fellow Elders, then they grimly orb out. A wounded Leo, having used every last ounce of his strength to stave off the attack, collapses.
INT. Manor - Foyer/Main Hall - Night
Phoebe: "I'll get the potion." Piper: "I'll get the spell." Zankou: "I wouldn't bother if I were you." Piper; "Leo!" Zankou: "Wouldn't bother with that, either. Something tells me he won't be coming to your rescue this time."

ACT IV
INT. Manor - Sitting Room/Main Hall/Dining Room - Night
Zankou hurls an energy ball, just missing Piper as she dives for cover behind a bookcase in the sitting room, joining a cowering Denise. Denise: "We're gonna die!" Piper; "No, Denise! You can do this! Remember what I taught you with your hands?" Zankou hurls an energy ball at the bookcase, blowing it up. Piper scrambles behind a divan and Denise scurries out to the main hall. Zankou turns his attention to Phoebe and Ronnie, hiding behind the corner in the dining room, Phoebe urges Ronnie, "Concentrate and you can tell when the next energy ball's…" Ronnie gasps, pushes Phoebe to the floor, as the dining room cabinet explodes into a pile of wood chips. Phoebe: "Okay, that's good." The divan explodes, showering Piper with debris and leaving her exposed to an advancing Zankou. She looks up, "LEO!!" Zankou: "Wanna try again? Better hurry." He hurls an energy ball at Piper, it's just about to hit when it's suddenly blasted away at the last second. She looks to see Denise, who just blasted it. She gestures again, blasting a stunned Zankou towards the front door. She zips over to check on Piper, "Good job!" Denise: "But I didn't kill him." Piper; "We'll take what we can get. LEO?!" Zankou, on his feet now, readies to throw another ball but he stops, sensing, "Leo's alive? I'm impressed. I knew the Avatars were powerful, but…looks like I'm not the biggest threat to you, after all." Denise gestures to blast him again, but he shimmers out and the blast explodes against the wall. A wounded Leo suddenly orbs in and takes in the mess. "What happened? You alright?" Phoebe says they're fine, "Thanks to these two." Piper sees Leo's wounded shoulder, "You, on the other hand…" Leo says he'll be okay. Piper asks what happened, "I thought you went to the Elders…" Leo: "I did. We need to talk."
INT. Airport Warehouse (1980) - Night
The wall clock ticks to 7:52. Brody, eye on the clock, knowing this is zero hour. Paige looks over, feels deeply for him, "If there had been any other way…" Brody: "It'll be over soon enough." They start scanning the warehouse, looking for where the attack might come from. Jack holds up a vial of the anti-Avatar potion for one of the agents to examine while Ruth chats with another agent. The third agent carries away the tray of remaining vials back to its original crate. Out of nowhere, a fireball engulfs the agent in a deadly blast, shattering the vials and incinerating the agent. Two Celerity demons blur in next to their leader, Aku, who's already there. The two remaining Customs Agents pull out their guns and start firing. Jack goes to shield his wife but is too late as Zyke buries his taloned claw into her stomach. Brody watches in horror, clutching his gun, wanting to join the fray, but knowing he can't. A stray bullet hits the clock, stopping it at 7:52. Another agent is incinerated by Aku's fireball. A couple of crates splinter as they're riddled with bullets. Kazl plunges his claw into Jack, as he's trying to revive his wife. Finally, the last agent is incinerated by another of Aku's fireballs. With everyone gone or dead, Aku joins the other two demons by Jack and Ruth's bodies, then notices the vials, "We needed those potions, check for more!" The other two turn over crates and boxes, but come up empty. "There aren't any more." Zyke: "How will we protect ourselves?" Aku: "We won't…" Aku, disappointed, blurs out first, followed by Kazl and Zyke. Paige and Brody take in the scene in front of them and Paige asks if he's okay. Brody: "No…" Paige: "I'm so sorry. I had no idea…" Brody: "It's just so hard…" Paige: "I know, but at least now you know…it wasn't Avatars." Brody: "It doesn't help…" Then, they hear Little Kyle: "Mom? Daddy?….DADDY?" He enters the warehouse, carrying a drink, which falls to the floor as he approaches the body of his father. A child's worst nightmare. "Daddy? Dad…" Paige watches, devastated. Little Kyle slumps over his father'' body, tears streaming, "No, daddy, please. Please…" He hears a noise behind him and turns to see…Brody. Who takes him into his arms. Little Kyle hugs him, crying, never wanting to let go, as Brody consoles his younger self. "Look at me, Kyle…look at me. We're going to get through this, okay? I promise." Brody glances past the sobbing little boy to his father, where the vial of vanquishing potion is still clutched in his outstretched hand.

INT. Manor - Living Room - Night
Another lamp explodes and we see that this time, it's Piper who's doing the exploding. Phoebe look on, "There. Your powers are as good as new." Piper: "Plus I never liked that lamp, anyway." Leo enters, worried, "I heard an explosion. Is everything…" Piper: "It's fine. Just making sure I got my powers back intact. Feels good, although pretty soon I probably won't have much use for 'em." Phoebe, hopeful, "Do you mean what I think you mean?" Piper: "Now that I found out Kyle's parents weren't killed by the Avatars…I'm gonna join you guys." Leo: "Really? I thought it was a two-part deal. You also had to see Phoebe's vision." Piper says she did. "Maybe not directly, but I saw how it affected Ronnie. Turned him into a smart, caring, decent person in no time. I figure if a thirty second vision could do that to somebody, imagine what living in that world would be like?" Leo: "That's wonderful, Piper. Thank you." Piper; "No, thank you. For having the patience to wait for me." She turns to Phoebe, "And if your powers helped Ronnie, getting mine seemed to have helped Denise." Phoebe; "Yeah?" Piper: "She got up the courage to sell her house and try someplace new." Phoebe: "Where's that?" piper: "Wherever Ronnie's going." Leo: "So now that you guys are on board, that just leaves…" "Me…" Paige's voice comes from the hallway, low-key, but somehow content. She enters and Piper asks how Kyle's doing. Paige: "Sad, but okay." Phoebe: "And yourself?" Paige: "About the same. But also relieved to find out it wasn't Avatars." She turns to Leo, "Speaking of which, I owe you an apology." Leo: "No, if I was in your shoes, I probably would have thought the same thing." Paige: "Anyway, now that I know the Avatars didn't kill Kyle's parents, I say let's do this." Phoebe asks if she's sure. Paige: "Yeah, I'm sure. I'm tired of dealing with demons, anything's gotta be better than that."
