TEASER
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Two tables are full of herb jars, filled potion vials, the cauldron, a scrying map, and a crystal. Paige is at the BoS, intently flipping pages and making notes as she does. Brody: "Hey…" Paige, startled, looks up to see him as he pauses at the door, "Hope it's okay, I just let myself in…" Paige: "Sure, of course…" She leaves the book stand, note pad still in hand, and meets him halfway, but only takes time to give him a quick peck with a "Hi" as she makes her way to the potion table to make more potions. Brody, seeing the tables, "What's going on?" Paige: "Just scrambling. We're on a roll here knocking off demons, thanks to the Avatars." Brody: "The Avatars…?" Paige: "Yeah, they've been amazing in helping us find them. We can't pick 'em off fast enough, it's been great." Brody: "Guess that's why you haven't returned any of my calls." Paige: "Oh, I'm sorry, I just assumed you knew…" Brody: "Knew what?" Paige: "That I'd be a little busy helping them." Brody: "Create Utopia." Paige: "Is that a bad thing? Kyle, I thought when we found out that they didn't kill your parents…" Brody: "It doesn't mean they're not still a threat." Paige gets frustrated, saying they've been through this, Brody tells her they haven't been through it enough. Paige says they have, he doesn't understand, but her sisters do, everything the Avatars have said and done for weeks has been legit. Brody reluctantly backs down, then asks how the change is going to happen. Paige tells him they need to cast a spell. He asks her what kind of spell. Paige admits she doesn't know. Brody launches into another tirade and Paige, defensive, says she's been a little busy and hasn't asked, then Brody asks her if anyone's talked to the Elders about everything. Paige says they wouldn't understand either, then she tells him she has one last demon to find and orbs out before he can say anything else. Brody, determined, spots the BoS and crosses over to it. He finds a page on the Elders, quickly scans the page, and centers himself, closing his eyes, "I beg you, if you can hear me…I can help you stop the Avatars. I've still got a vanquishing potion…" He suddenly disappears down through the floorboards.
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Brody magically appears from above and reforms. He opens his eyes to discover he's facing Zankou, "Are you…an Elder?" Zankou: "Hardly." A horde of demons approach behind Zankou from the outer cave shadows and Brody realizes he's in some very deep trouble.

ACT I
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Zankou paces in front of a very nervous Brody as Zankou speaks, "You said something about a vanquishing potion?" Brody asks how he knew about it. Zankou says it's the same way he knew to bring him there. Laygan steps forward, pleased to ad, "We intercepted your little cry for help." Zankou: "About that potion…" Brody says it won't kill him, unless he's an Avatar. Zankou says that's why he wants it. They both wish to stop what the Avatars are trying to do and he wants to work together with Brody to make sure they do. Brody says he's not going to help him hurt the sisters. Zankou says he doesn't want to hurt them. Laygan keeps interrupting, and Zankou finally turns his attention to him, "Remind me why I tolerate you again…" Laygan: "Because you're running low on demons?" Brody says he can't help them…won't help them…because they're demons. Zankou, threatening, "Yes, we are, which makes us, for better or worse, fundamental to the Grand Design. It keeps things in balance, gives necessary contrast to all that you covet, all that is good. And therein lies our mutual problem - without one, you can't have the other. Without evil, there can be no good - which is why I think you want to stop the Avatars as much as I do." Brody asks how. Zankou says the potion will kill one, but it should be enough to weaken then all, but only the sisters can get to them…and he can get to the sisters. Brody says he's not going after Leo again. Zankou says Leo's not the only one. Brody says he'll never get the sisters to let him use the potion. Laygan says they can help that and Zankou adds, "If we work together." Brody says he won't. Zankou approaches him, promising, "You will." He flames out as Brody wonders what happens next.

INT. Magic School - Study - Day
Paige, referring to her notebook, cross-references information with old tomes. Alpha paces nearby as Gamma pulls another book off the shelf and hands it to Paige. "The problem is his powers go beyond the physical. Zankou has the gift of prescience as well. He anticipates where we'll be looking for him next." Paige: "On the other hand, we've already gotten most of the other high-level demons on the list, isn't that good enough?" Alpha says it's not, they can't proceed without getting Zankou first but Gamma says they might not have a choice if they don't begin the transformation soon. Alpha says they still have time and Paige asks why. "You said yourself we're not going to be able to knock off all demons beforehand, right? There'll be others." Alpha explains that Zankou poses a unique threat, and he's determined to stop them. Paige says he's not the only one, then asks about the spell. Alpha explains the spell puts people to sleep, just long enough for them to erase the mind-set of duality. Paige: "So, wait…we go to sleep, too?" Before he can answer, Phoebe calls out. Paige, Alpha and Gamma exit into…
INT. Magic School - Great Hall - Day (continuous)
Phoebe and Piper, wiping off green goo, Leo has just orbed them in. "It's about time." Phoebe: "What do you mean? We haven't been gone that long. Besides, we vanquished, what - six, seven upper-level demons?" Piper: "And a bunch of gross, disgusting things." Leo: "Grimlock eggs." Piper, repeating, "Disgusting." Phoebe says she doesn't care, after tomorrow, they won't have to do it again. Alpha says they still have to find Zankou, Leo asks "What is we can't?" Paige says then they won't be taking a cat nap with the rest of the world. Piper asks what she's talking about. Paige: "A little something they neglected to tell us." Alpha explains and Paige says she's not going to sleep. Phoebe asks what's going on. Paige says she just wants to make sure they know what they're getting into. Piper: "We've had this conversation, a dozen times. There's only so much we can know, the rest is a leap of faith…one that I thought we were all more than ready for." Alpha says if it helps any, they didn't intend for the sisters to join them until much later and Paige asks why. Leo: "Because there'll still be some straggler demons left, the ones who live and walk among us." Gamma says they'll need to vanquish them so that conflict doesn't seep back in. Phoebe: "Wait, so, we DO still have to fight demons?" Gamma says they'll be easy to spot, they won't be asleep and Alpha says it shouldn't take long to find them and deal with them. Phoebe looks to Paige: "You okay with that?" Paige: "I guess…" Leo asks about Zankou. Piper: "I think I have an idea how to find him…" She takes off for the study as Phoebe turns to Leo: "Mind giving me a lift? I want to make sure I get my last column in." Paige: "What do you mean your last column?" Phoebe; "How much advice can a world without conflict need? I may be out of a job." Paige: "And that doesn't bother you?" Phoebe: "Not if I get all the other perks." She holds out an elbow to Leo, "Shall we?" He interlocks his arm in hers and they orb out.
INT. Bay Mirror - Phoebe's Office - Day
Elise approaches to doorway with a concerned look, "Are you leaving us?" Phoebe: "What?" Elise: "The Grass is Greener….bit of a goodbye column, isn't it?" Phoebe, realizing her mistake, "Uh, well, no, not necessarily." Elise: "Phoebe, I've been doing this a long time, I know how to read between the lines. Come on, talk to me." Phoebe just tells her things change, life changes. Elise: "Don't you like your job anymore?" Phoebe says she loves it, always has but things change. Elise says she doesn't understand. Phoebe tries to explain, as much as she dares, Elise still doesn't get it and pressures her, but all Phoebe can say is to trust her, it's a good thing then she says she'd better go. She grabs her purse and gets up. Elise: "Wait…" Phoebe gives her a hug, surprising Elise, "I can't think of a better way to thank you for everything you've done for me." Before Elise can question her further, she heads out the door.
INT. Bay Mirror - Bullpen - Day (continuous)
Phoebe makes her way through the bullpen, growing a little misty-eyed, as she makes an announcement. "Goodbye my dear friends, I'll see you tomorrow when a bright, sunshiny new day begins!" Then, one by one, she starts hugging her co-workers. "Michelle, you're the best!"…"Donald, buddy, you're the man!"…"Craig, I've always…" she pulls away, then realizes, "Actually, we've never liked each other, have we? Oh well…." She hugs him anyway, "That'll change." As she nears the door, she turns and calls out, "Until tomorrow!" and with a flourish, she's gone, leaving a puzzled staff and an equally puzzled Elise.
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Piper's at the Book, writing something down, as Paige stares out the window. Piper: "Formulating a plan to take a demon out? Mark that on things I won't miss once we're in Utopia." Paige doesn't respond and Piper continues, saying she thinks adjusting the tracking spell they used to find the Source might work on Zankou. Still no response from Paige. She looks up, "Paige…are you listening?" Paige, distracted, "Sounds great…" Piper: "If you were listening to me." She turns and heads towards Piper, "Sorry. Just, you know, this is a big change…" Piper says it's okay to be scared, "I'm antsy, Phoebe's nostalgic, and you're scared. That's how we do things." Paige says she's not scared…then, off Piper's look, admits, "Okay, well, maybe just a little." Piper asks why. Paige tells her it's Kyle, he still thinks the Avatars are a threat and he's been asking some pretty good questions. They discuss things a bit longer, Piper saying she's always worried about which demon will get her…or one o the boys…Paige says Brody has some pretty good evidence and his hunches have been right before. Piper finally tells her they deserve the opportunity, they've earned it and then, "Come on, let's go get Zankou."

INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Three Celerity demons shimmer in. Kazl: "What are we doing here?" Brody, siting by himself away from the demons, looks up, not believing what he's seeing. Instantly enraged, 'MURDERERS!" He charges them, only to be restrained by Laygan and a couple other demons. Brody tells them to let go of him. Zyke: "What is this?" Celerity Demon 3: "This…is his revenge." With that, the demon shapeshifts….into Zankou, and forms an energy ball, hurling it at Kazl and Zyke, who die in a violent vanquish. Zankou looks as Laygan and the others release Brody, "They're the ones who killed your parents, aren't they? The ones who really did it? You owe me for doing something you could never have done without me. And now you'll repay me by doing something I can't do without you…stop the Avatars." Brody nods in agreement and Zankou hands him a small crystal, "You need to be very careful with this, use it only exactly as I say." Brody asks what it is. Zankou: "Simply put? Paranoia." Just by touching a witch with it, they'll get paranoid, and it will spread, to the other sisters. Brody repeats that he won't hurt the sisters. Zankou says he's not asking him to. He just wants to make them a little…scared and uncertain. Enough to make the Avatars concerned something's wrong, to draw them out into the open. Brody, catching on, "So I can use the potion…" Zankou: "Precisely." Then he tells Brody not to be worried, it won't effect him since he's not a witch. Brody: "How do I know you won't try to hurt them anyway?" Before Zankou can answer, they all react to screams and explosions coming from the outer cave.
INT. Zankou's Lair - Outer Cave - Eternal Night
Piper, gesturing, and Paige, tossing potion vials, are blowing up surprised demons left and right. One demon hurls a fireball at them, but Paige calls for it and sends it right back. Other demons fight, but some shimmer out, as the sisters continue to advance.
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Zankou orders the rest of the demons to go and they shimmer out, leaving Zankou alone with Brody as the explosions get closer. He holds up the crystal, telling Brody to take it. Brody finally does and asks how he reverses the effects as he pockets the crystal. Zankou says he'll be in touch and then, with a vicious backhand, he sends Brody flying across the lair, causing him to slam into a jagged rock, opening a wound on his shoulder. Stunned, Brody touches his shoulder, sees the blood, then looks at Zankou. Zankou: "You're going to need an alibi…" Piper and Paige run up to the cave opening just in time to see Zankou shimmer out. Paige, seeing, "Kyle??" She rushes over to him, sees he's hurt, "Oh my God, what happened?" Brody: "I'm alright, I'm okay…" Piper: "Yeah? Then maybe you can explain what the hell you're doing down here."

ACT II
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Brody's on the sofa as Leo heals him. Paige asks what's taking so long and Leo tells her that Brody's resisting. Brody: "Can you blame me?" Piper: "HE'S not the one we just found in a demon cave." Brody: "Wait, you think I WANTED to be there?" Piper: "You want to stop the Avatars, Zankou wants to stop the Avatars…see any connection there?" Paige: "Piper, come on, you can't be serious." Piper: "I'm just saying…I'd like to know." Brody says Zankou kidnapped him. Leo asks why. Brody says Zankou thinks he can help kill him, that's why. Piper: "You mean, help kill an Avatar." Brody: "Same difference." Paige: "But, I don't understand, why would he think you still have the potion?" Brody: "You'd have to ask him." Paige says she plans on it and grabs the vanquishing potion. Piper points out that Zankou won't be there anymore. Paige says they've found him once, they can do it again, she doesn't want him attacking Kyle. Leo: "You really want to protect him? Help the Avatars bring in Utopia so Zankou CAN'T stop it." Piper; "He's right, you know." Brody: "No, you don't have to do that…just use me as bait, wait for him to attack again." Paige: "What if we're too late next time?" Brody: "So you are…you don't have to change the world to save me." Paige: "Don't we? You know, the more demons try to stop all this, the more it makes me want to go through with it. Let's do it." Brody: "Paige…" Paige; "No, my mind's made up. It's for the best." Piper, to Leo, "Tell them we're ready." Leo nods and orbs out, leaving Piper to realize that Paige and Brody need a moment so she tells them she's going to go see where Phoebe is. Brody tells Paige he can't let her go though with it. Paige says he doesn't have a choice. She turns to exit and he reaches into his pocket to grab the crystal, then, "Wait…" She stops as he crosses over to her, not liking what he has to do, 'I'm sorry…" He leans in and gives her a kiss. As he does, the crystal glows and Paige's lips spark, causing her to pull away, "What was that?" Brody, worried he's busted, "What?" Paige: "Didn't you feel that?" Brody: "Probably just static electricity, don't be paranoid."

INT. Brody's Apartment - Day
Brody enters, clearly upset, to find….Zankou: "How'd it go?" Brody: "This better work." Zankou: "I agree. For both our sakes. I see the Avatar healed your wound. Too bad you couldn't use the potion on him right then and there, none of this would've been necessary." Brody: "How do I reverse the paranoia?" Zankou: "Patience, all in good time." Brody: "Look, I help up my end of the deal…" Zankou: "As have I." Brody, frustrated, turns away from Zankou. Zankou says that the problem with being human is conscience, humans are always too conflicted. Demons have no such weaknesses. Brody says it's not a weakness, it's what keeps people honest, "It's what helps us to choose good over…you." Zankou says it also messes with your head. Brody finally asks what he's doing there. Zankou says he wants the potion. Brody: "I'm not giving you the potion - and I'm not going to use it, either, until I know the sisters are safe." Zankou: "Which won't be for awhile, I'm afraid. Not until the full effects of the paranoia take hold. To that end, I think you should come with me." Brody asks where and Zankou tells him that he doesn't want him to fall asleep with everyone else. Before Brody can resist, Zankou flames out with him.
INT. Magic School - Study - Day
Paige is maniacally reorganizing books, sorting them based on titles, into different piles. Piper, curiously amused, knocks on the doorjamb in the open doorway, then asks what she's doing. Paige: "Just, you know, sorting books." Piper tells her everyone's waiting. Paige says she's afraid there won't be time afterwards. Piper asks her for what. Paige says without demons around, they won't need the boos on them anymore, unless the demons come back, then what would they do. Then, she changes her mind and wonders if she should put them back the way they were. Piper; "Paige, sweetie, you're not yourself." Paige: "I'm not? Then, who am I?" Piper tells her she's stalling. Paige asks what if something goes wrong. Piper says they'll fix it and reaches out to grab Paige's arm. As she does, there's a spark, and she recoils, "What was that?" Paige: "What was what?" Piper; "THAT!" Paige, "I don't know, you tell me." After they both look around, Piper, less effected, centers herself, "Come on, they're waiting."
INT. Magic School - Great Hall - Day (continuous)
In the outer hall, they meet up with Phoebe, who's heading in their direction. In the background, Leo and two of the Avatars wait. Phoebe says she was looking for them. Piper: "Why? What's wrong?" Phoebe: "Wrong? Nothing, we were just wondering what happened to you." Paige: "We don't know what happened, that's the problem." Phoebe: "Huh?…Are you feeling alright?" She reaches to touch Paige's forehead and gets zapped. She pulls back, leery, "What was that?" Paige: "See?" Piper, looking over her shoulder, "See what?" Leo calls to them and Phoebe, now the least effected, shakes it off and leads her sisters to a table with the others. Phoebe says they're ready and Paige: "Unless there's something we should know that we don't know…you know?" Alpha, "No." Paige; "Okay, fine, well then never mind." Piper: "Wait, we forgot about Zankou. What if he attacks?" Phoebe: "Good point. What if he does?" Paige: "Maybe we shouldn't go through this…" Leo asks what's the matter with them and Gamma restates that they'll still have their powers, so if Zankou attacks, they'll be prepared. Alpha adds, "In fact, he'll be more exposed than ever, especially as you continue to thin out the demonic ranks."" Phoebe: "Ah, but how do we know you're telling the truth?" Off their looks, Phoebe: "Forget that." Leo says they just need to do it. Alpha: "Very well…" He closes his eyes to summon Beta, who materializes in. His entrance surprises the sisters, "Woah, where'd you come from?" Leo: "They're a little nervous." Beta says he understands, then tells them to put their hands on a tablet he brought with him. As they do, Paige asks what they're supposed to do. The Avatars close their eyes, then a light emerges from the tablet, it brightens, illuminating the room. Then, it happens. A beam of light shoots out of the middle up towards the heavens, nearly blinding everyone. Golden light flows out in a wave as we see shots of San Francisco, New York, London, and Moscow, all in the wave. Once the light has reached full circle and back to San Francisco, we see the streets. Piper gently fall asleep on the sidewalk, cars shut down and drift off tot he side of the road, clearing out of the way of other cars as drivers and passengers fall asleep. At a coffee stand, two people fall asleep at their table, each knocking the others' coffee into the others' lap, but they just keep sleeping. The sisters watch as the light dwindles, finally disappearing. Then, the Avatars open their eyes, Alpha smiles to confirm what the others already know, "It has begun."

EXT. San Francisco - City Street - Day
Everyone's asleep as the sisters, Leo and Beta walk through the streets. Phoebe asks if everyone's okay, then wonders if anyone got hurt. Beta assures her everyone's fine. Piper asks if Beta's sure, and Beta asks if they see anyone who's been harmed in any way. Piper: "No, but that doesn't rule out internal injuries." Paige: "So, wait, it's like this everywhere? All around the world?" Beta: "All around the world." Phoebe: "What about airplanes, or helicopters? How do you know they landed okay?" Leo: "The Avatars have obviously taken care of that - relax, what's gotten into you?" Phoebe: "What? I think we have a right to be a little jumpy, considering…" Beta: "Perhaps it would help to focus on the straggler demons." Paige reaches into her purse full of potions vials and pulls one out, asking where they are. Beat tells them they have to find out. Piper asks why they don't just leave. Beta informs them it's because they have no place left to go. Paige, startled, points, "Did you see that? He moved!" Piper asks which one. Paige: "That one over there, in the tacky suit." Phoebe, trigger happy, starts to throw the vial, but Beta stops her, cautioning, "You have to be sure." Paige approaches the man, then convinced, stops halfway: "False alarm." Phoebe, not satisfied, "No, get a closer look." Before she can, the man leaps to his feet and hurls a fireball at Paige, who yelps and barely has time to dive out of the way. The man turns and starts to shimmer, but piper gestures and blows him up in mid-shimmer. Everyone rushes to Paige, "Whew, for a second there, I thought I was just getting paranoid." Leo: "How much longer before the makeover's complete?" Beta: "Two hours, which means we should get back until it's safe." Leo: "I'm not leaving them. I'll be fine, Beta, don't worry. Go." Beta dematerializes, leaving Leo to suggest, "Alright, let's split up, we'll find more demons that way. Phoebe and me, Paige and Piper. Any sign of trouble, orb back to the manor, got it?"" Paige: "Got it." As they split up, the paranoia shows with Piper, "Why didn't he want to team with me? Do you think he's cheating on me?" Paige: "Come on…" They take of in the opposite direction of Phoebe and Leo.
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Zankou stands, eyes closed, meditating, sensing, as Brody confronts Laygan. "I don't understand, what are we waiting for?" Demons move about in the background and all react to the tacky suited demon, who shimmers into to lair, mid-agony, still on fire. Zankou waves his hand and freezes the dying demon, then opens his eyes and answers, "That's what we're waiting for." Zankou crosses over and waves his hand in front of the frozen demon, reading him, then he looks at his palm and nods. "Your death will not have been in vain, my friend, I promise you." With that, he gestures and unfreezes the demon, who drops to the ground before finally exploding, disappearing. Brody asks what all that was about. Zankou: "He saw what I needed to see. And now, I know which Avatar we'll be flushing out….and the one you'll be killing." Brody ask how. Zankou says he needs a volunteer. Laygan, wincing, "Does it have to be me?" Zankou: "No." Laygan, relieved, "Good, I'll get right on it." He spins, heads to the other demons, then Brody, "Look, I don't like this - I don't like being kept in the dark about what's going on." Zankou: "Well, what're you going to do?" Brody: "Not kill an Avatar for one thing." Zankou: "Then you'll die." Brody: "Better me than the sisters." Zankou: "How many times do I have to tell you I'm not after them?" Brody: "Then why won't you tell me what the hell I'm doing down here?!" Zankou: "That's what you get for making a deal with the devil - so-to-speak." Brody says he's not doing anything until he knows the sisters are okay. Zankou: "They're still alive, if that's what you mean. And their paranoia is growing." Brody asks what they're waiting for. Zankou: "The opportune time to show yourself..." With that, they flame out.
INT. Brody's Apartment - Day (continuous)
Zankou flames in with Brody, finishing his sentence "…which nears." Brody, checks himself for flames, nervous he might still be on fire, then he looks around, glad to be back, "When?" Zankou: "When I send one of the sisters to you, here, the one you care so much about." Brody asks how that will flush out an Avatar. Zankou tells him what to say, Beta wanted him to stay awake, and Paige will be so paranoid that when the Avatar arrives, that's when Brody will strike. Brody asks again how to reverse the paranoia. Zankou: "You're persistent, aren't you? Very well. Just break the crystal, the sisters will revert instantly." Brody: "That's it?" Zankou confirms. Brody asks why he didn't tell him before. Zankou: "Same reason you didn't tell me where the potion is. Leverage." Then, final parting words, "Remember, don't miss." With that, he flames out, leaving Brody alone with his thoughts as his eyes drift to a snow globe nearby.
EXT. San Francisco - Movie Theater - Day
A business man's eyes glow demonic red as he desperately runs, then gets vanquished. As the smoke clears, we see Leo, hands up, and Phoebe hiding behind him. "What is your problem?" Phoebe; "Sorry, I guess I just…froze. Won't happen again." Leo tells her this isn't like her. Phoebe restates that it won't happen again and Leo leads Phoebe away. The line of movie goers sleep on as they both gently poke and prod at the people, trying to flush out more demons. Leo gives Phoebe a second look and asks if she's sure she's alright. Phoebe: "Yeah, sure, fine. It's just, I don't know, I've got a bad feeling about this." Leo: "Yeah, well, you've had a bad feeling about everything lately." Phoebe: "I know, but this one feels REALLY bad. Are you sure we're not being set up?" Leo: "Oh, please, not this again." Phoebe: "No, I mean it, the Avatars could be just like the Trojan horse, do you remember the Trojan horse?" Leo tries to reassure her, but the paranoia takes over and she's off on a tangent, wondering out loud if it's a set up or not. Leo tells her it's not like her to be acting this way and Phoebe tells him he's not listening to her, he doesn't understand and that it's the perfect conspiracy. At the front of the line of movie goers, dressed like a couple on a date, two demons' eyes snap open, but they don't move. They share a look as Phoebe and Leo continue talking, Leo trying to reassure, Phoebe still not convinced. She starts moving up the line again, poking people, saying she can't help how she feels. Then, looking up, seeing them first, she screams as she uncharacteristically takes off and runs for cover. Leo looks to see the two demons standing up, firing energy balls. Leo manages to fire a lightening bolt at one of the balls, obliterating it, butt he second one hits him in the chest, knocking him backwards. Before he can recover, the demons shimmer out. Leo makes sure he's okay, then looks over to Phoebe as she sheepishly peers out from behind a parked car, "Sorry again…" Leo asks what happened, why she ran…Phoebe admits she doesn't know. Leo: "Something's wrong, I'm getting you out of here." She nods, more than willing, and they orb out.

EXT. San Francisco - Alley - Day
Piper and Paige, heading around a corner into a long alley. Only a few stragglers lie asleep on the ground. "It's been a while since we found any demons…" Piper; "Think that means something?" Paige: "I don't know, do you?" Piper: "I don't know…" Piper, unsure of herself, stops, which makes Paige even more paranoid, "Why are you stopping? What do you see?" Piper: "Nothing, relax." Paige: "But what if they get us?" Piper: "They? Who's they?" Paige: "You know…They…as in Them…the ones who always do the getting…" Piper: "You're making me crazy!" Paige: "Yeah, well, join the crowd." Piper: "What is wrong with us?" Before Paige can respond, Beta startles them by materializing in front of them. Piper reflexively gestures and blows her back on her butt before realizing, "Oops, sorry…" Paige: "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Beta: "Yes…but I'm afraid your friend may not be…Kyle?" Paige: "Kyle? What about him - what's wrong?" Beta: "We don't know - all we know is he didn't fall asleep like everyone else did.'" Piper asks what she means. Beta: "It means Zankou must have gotten to him again, shielded him from us." Piper asks why. Paige: "Why else? Because he thinks Kyle's still got the potion. I never should have left him alone." She starts to orb out as Piper calls, "Paige, no, you can't leave without me!" Piper is still looking up at the now disappearing orbs as Beta waves her hand with a quick gesture, causing a demon to shimmer in at the other end of the alley, nodding to Beta, who then warns, "Demon…' Piper: "What, where?" Piper sees the Demon, then the demon takes off around the corner. Beta implores Piper, "Get him! GO!" Piper takes off running, but then, the moment she disappears around the corner, "Beta" smiles, then shapeshifts into Zankou.
INT. Brody's Apartment - Day
Paige orbs in, immediately calling out for Kyle. Brody: "I'm right here." Paige asks if he's okay, "Did he hurt you?" Brody: "Did who hurt me?" Paige: "Zankou…come on, I've gotta get you out of here." Brody asks why. Paige: "Before he finds out you don't really have the potion - he'll kill you." Brody: "Don't you think he would've killed me by now?" Paige: "No, he's keeping you awake because he thinks you've still got it, don't you see?" Brody: "But he's not the one who kept me awake…it was the Avatars, Beta." Paige: "What? But I don't understand…she just told me Zankou did it." Brody: "Then maybe you oughta call her." Paige calls for her and she materializes into the room. "What's the matter? Why isn't he asleep?" Paige: "What are you talking about? You just told me Zankou did it." Beta: "I did not." Paige: "Yes, you did, don't tell me you didn't - what the hell is going on?" Beta: "I told you, I don't know. But he must…" Paige, confused, looks to Brody. He pulls out the crystal and shatters it on the floor. Paige, affected, recoils just like she did when she was hit by the initial shock. "What was that?" Brody: "I wanted to make sure you were back to normal before…" He hesitates, clearly torn, and in the pause, Paige: "Before what?" Brody: "Forgive me…" With that, in slow motion, before anyone can stop it, he pulls out the anti-Avatar potion and throws it. Paige: "NO!!!" Beta reflexively gestures to blast at Brody, which hits him square in the chest, sending him flying across the room. The vial shatters at Beta's feet, causing an eerie explosion of grey-black smoke. Then it expands and shoots up into Beta's mouth and nose. Beta, struck, stunned, struggles with the horror as she collapses to the floor, dying. Paige, in tears, runs to Brody, shocked to see the mortal wound on his upper chest. She drops to her knees, trying to soothe him. Brody: "I'm sorry." Paige shushes him, "It's okay, Kyle, you're going to be okay…"

ACT IV
INT. Brody's Apartment - Day
Kyle tries to explain, "Please, don't hate me." Paige: "I don't hate you, of course I don't hate you." Brody: "I didn't want it to end this way." Paige: "It's not going to, I promise…LEO?!" Brody: "No, you can't call him." Paige asks why. Brody: "Because he's vulnerable now, they all are…Zankou will kill him." Paige: "I don't understand…why'd you do this?" Brody: "To stop them." Paige, again, calls for Leo. Instead, she gets Alpha and Gamma. "I'm afraid it's too late. He can't be saved." Paige: "What? Why not? Where's Leo?" Alpha: "He's with Phoebe." They both soberly register Beta on the floor. Gamma crosses over to her and finds her dead, then shoots Alpha a look to let him know it's over. Paige: "Okay, alright, but you guys can fix this, right? You can rewind time, can't you? Make all this never have happened?" Alpha: "I'm sorry, Paige, but we've come too far to go back now." Paige: "BUT HE'S DYING!" Alpha: "But he's weakened the Collective, risked losing all that we've worked so hard to create." Gamma: "The demon will try to take advantage of this to stop us." Alpha: "He won't be able to if we consolidate power, complete the transformation." Paige: "What the hell are you talking about?" She looks to Brody, "What about HIM?!" Alpha: "The needs of the one must be sacrificed for the good of the many. You'll understand soon." Paige: "Listen to me, we didn't sign up for your little experiment just so you could play God! Now, you fix this right here and right now, or else…" Gamma: "He's dead." Paige stops cold. She turns to see Brody, no longer breathing, eyes fixed and dilated, staring at the heavens and drops to her knees. "No, please, no…" Alpha and Gamma talk, saying they have to move quickly, Alpha asks about Leo, Gamma says he'll understand, he's one of them now. They pause for a beat, then turn their attention to Paige and their eyes glow white. Within moments, Paige loses consciousness and drifts to the floor, fast asleep.

INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Phoebe and Leo are in mid-conversation. Phoebe, back to feeling normal, is still puzzled as to why, while Leo is distracted by an odd feeling deep inside. Phoebe: "I don't get it, I don't know what happened. I mean, one moment I'm convinced everyone's after me, then the next - I feel perfectly fine." Leo: "Yeah, well, I don't." Phoebe asks him what's wrong, what he's feeling. He says he doesn't know, he just feels…weaker. Phoebe tells him he should sit . Phoebe stops halfway to the sofa and collapses to the floor, asleep. Leo: "Phoebe!" He drops down to attend to her, tries to wake her up, "What happened? Can you hear me? Wake up!" Then he wonders aloud…"Piper…"
EXT. San Francisco - Alley - Day
Piper, sound asleep in the middle of the alley, just like everyone else, as Leo orbs in across the way and spots her. "Piper!" He rushes to her, barely has a chance to kneel by her, when Alpha and Gamma materialize in, drawing his attention, "She's just sleeping, Leo. She'll be fine, they all will." Leo: "What have you done to her?" Alpha: "The same thing that's happened to everybody else." Leo: "But they weren't supposed to turn yet, not until they were ready." Gamma: "We had no choice." Leo: "What do you mean you had no choice? You can't do this!" Gamma: "Beta's dead, Leo." Leo, stung, "What?" Alpha: "It's why you feel less…powerful. Why we all do." Leo asks how it happened. Alpha: "It seems Agent Brody had another potion after all. One that both he and Zankou hoped to bring down Utopia with before it even begins." Gamma: "But we can't let that happen. The sooner we complete the transformation, the less chance he has of succeeding." Alpha: "Which is why we need the power of the Charmed Ones with us, now more than ever. I'm sure you understand." Leo: "But we could've talked to them first…" Alpha: "Ideally, yes, but Paige was…inconsolable. Agent Brody's dead, too." Alpha: "We must press on, Leo, now - or Zankou will win. All that we've worked for will have been for naught. We can still give them the world they've always wanted, happiness they've never known. Happiness YOU'VE never known. But we must move quickly, and as one." Leo: "I just don't see how Paige is going to be happy after what's happened." Gamma: "She'll understand." Alpha: "Everyone will understand that those who bring conflict into the world can not be tolerated."
EXT. San Francisco - City Street - Day
Exactly as it was left, everyone sleeping, but then, a beat later, people begin to stir, waking up into the new world. Slowly they rise from the ground, get out of cars, dazed at first, then stretch and orient themselves as if the day is just beginning for them. The two people who spilled coffee on each other wake, noticing the stains on their clothes, but instead of fighting, they both apologize to the other. Two drivers get out of their cars to inspect the damage from a minor fender bender. Van Driver: "Sorry, I don't know what happened." Car Driver: "You got insurance?" Van Driver: "Yeah." Car Driver: "Then don't worry about it."
INT. Zankou's Lair - Eternal Night
Zankou is sensing, Laygan nervously watches, trying to read his expression for any clues. Finally, Laygan braves asking, "Well?" Zankou: "Utopia has begun." Laygan: "So? What does that mean…we're screwed?" Zankou: "The Avatars turned the witches sooner than I anticipated. We can't change things back without their help." Laygan: "Then we need to get out of here before they come for us." Zankou says they have time. Laygan: "How do you figure? It's over, Zankou…we don't stand a chance in this new world!" Zankou, confident, "Still, we've planted a seed. Let's wait and see if it sprouts." Laygan, not understanding, shoots him a curious look.
INT. Manor - Main Hall/Stairs - Day
Leo and Piper orb in, mid-conversation, "I don't know what you're so worried about, Leo, it's all good as far as I'm concerned." Leo: "Yeah, but - they were supposed to wait. Until you were ready." Piper: "Well, as you know, I was MORE than ready for this anyway…" Before Leo can pursue that, Phoebe, blissful, comes bouncing down the stairs, "I can't believe how good I feel, don't you?" Piper; "Yep, pretty amazing." Phoebe: "It's weird - it's like, I remember the old way, all the demon battles…but I'm not stressed about it anymore." Piper: "That's because we don't have to worry about demons anymore, which leaves us time to..."" She hesitates to fill in the blank, then delights in pondering all the possibilities, "Live a little!" She looks to Leo and asks where the boys are. Leo: "At Magic School…so, you're sure you're okay with this?" Phoebe: "Okay with it? Are you kidding? What's not to like?" Paige orbs in to join them, not nearly as joyous, although not nearly as grief-stricken as anyone would expect. "Hi." Piper: "Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry…" Phoebe: "Yeah, me, too…how are you holding up?" Paige: "Well, you know, it's hard, but there's nothing anyone could've done…at least Kyle's in a better place not, and I'm happy for that." Piper and Phoebe, nodding in curious agreement, move off with Paige - leaving Leo alone to react as if he's the only one in the world who knows something's gone terribly wrong.
