A Different Board????

I was wondering if you have considered using a different message board besides this one? I ask because I have noticed that this board is not as sufficient as other forums available on the net.

I base my opinion on myself being able to have admin control and not being pleased or impressed with how this company allows you ladies to control the content on your board.

I have been an Administrator on several different boards for over 3 years and this one seems to be very difficult to work with. JMO.

I think you ladies have great potential with this community and I believe that with a better board you could do much better.

My #1 recommendation for total control and flexibility would be this board.

This board requires 1 SQL data base and is very easy to set up. You would have to set your self up with a web host provider for this type of board, but it is worth it. Not only could you host the board on the web provider but you could have lots of web space and bandwidth for images and downloads of files for your members.

I have a Invision Board you can view. Keep in mind that there is not much content on the board because it is a test board that I never opened to the public. Here is my Invision Board.

Invision Board is a free board, you just need a web host provider and 1 SQL Dta Base to run it.

These forums are 100% customizable with colors and graphics.

Another choice would be EZ Board which is what Cain and I use. It is free such as Invision Board but the free version of EZ Board requires letting the company have pop up's on the board.

Invision Board has NO pop ups.

Cain and I use the payed for version of EZ Board with NO pop ups but sometimes it can be costly depending on how many page views you have per month.

Anyway, I hope I did not come off the wrong way with this. I just believe that you could do much better with a better board.

As I mentioned in the PM I sent you, I've been toying with the idea of starting a website and either linking this board or another similiar to it..... I will definetly go check out the two you suggested (probably on my time off, because after working my stretch on, I'm usually too goofy to try and comprehend anything past a 2^nd grade level..... it all goes back to the 2 brain cells I have and that I'm highly protective of I do have a stupid question though (You've got to promise you won't laugh...... do you promise? okay, here's my question.... what is a 1 SQL data base? Because my board is NEVER used, I will if you like transform it temporarily to copy your board EXACTLY. I have TONS of bandwidth and smilies to acomidate daily chatting.

PLUS...NO ADVERTISEMENTS!!

I will make my board a exact duplicate of your board if you like. All of you ladies could use it for a while and see how you like it. If you like how the Invision Board works, I will help you set up one of your own.

Let me know and it will be done. I will make you Kat an Admin and you can have 100% disscretion on how the board is ran while you are testing it.

You can do with the board as you see fit.

:'( I'm so very, very touched Dark... that's such an exceptionally generous offer.... I don't know what to say other than I must let everyone know what's in the works.... I'm sure everyone would be THRILLED, but I must let them know ahead of time just to be considerate of when this would transpire...

Like I said I'm very touched by your offer, but I don't want to put you to any type of inconvenience whatsoever.... I can only imagine how much time it would take to accomplish such a task and I don't want to cause you any trouble in so far as taking up your time away from anything that would be more pressing. It would have to be at your convenience most definetly...... just let me know when you could schedule it into your time table and I will shoot for letting everyone know and locking all the topics here and changing the newsfader to reflect the new temporary location.

This is very exciting to me, because it would give me the chance to see if this would be an advantageous undertaking in so far as branching out like I've been wanting to do..... Oh yes, and thank you so very much for explaining SQL to me.... I kindof sortof understand, but not totally.... I mean I understand the concept of the form of communication but I think the term "statement" may have thrown me for a loop... would that be the same thing as a "command" or like sub routine that the database uses to recognize the language or rather commands? I'm not familiar with Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, or Ingres with the exception that I've heard of Oracle and MS before but that's just about the extent of my knowledge base.

Thank you for taking the time to explain what you have explained to me.... it is very interesting and I would at some point really enjoy learning more from you about the inner workings of such systems.... of course, at your convenience.... I do so enjoy learning more about the inner workings of computers and the basic fundamental structures of each different program..... even at my age! My plan is to copy this board to my Invision Board and make you a Admin and teach you the controls.

Between all of that, all board member's will have to go to my board and register. I have the board closed as of now so I can make the transformation, but it will be open soon.

I just finished instaling my new hard drive yesterday. I have been spending the last couple of day's re installing all of my app's and such.

I have about 40% of your board copied to my board. Now that I am back up and runing I should be able to finish the transistion within a week.

P.S.
During the re install of my new drive, I have lost my ability to log onto this board with my user name and password. I am working on fixing this problem.

I will keep in touch as I can.
