I thought I would start with one of my favorite movies so far of this season. 13 Going On 30, starting Jennifer Garner (star of Alias). Also stars Mark Ruffalo ( You Can Count On Me, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind); Judy Greer ( The Wedding Planner, What Women Want and upcomming The Village); Andy Serkis ( Lord Of The Rings Trilogy) Director: Gary Winick. Jenna Rink wants nothing else but to be older. As any 13 year old, she's having trouble finding her place, not quite fitting in with the "cool crowd". So, on her 13th bday when her best friend, Matty, gives her wishing dust she wishes to be 30. 30 Flirty and Thriving! And her wish comes true. Over night she ages 27 years without remembering any of it. She has to now come to terms with her life, while trying to figure out exactly what her life is like. At first she thinks she has it all, a big career, a boyfriend, and she's popular! Until she realizes that things aren't quite so wonderful. At which point she turns to old friend Matty (Ruffalo) to help out. While the whole time, taking life on in the eyes of a 13 year old. This movie was a laugh a minute. With great jokes, but also with Jennifer Garner's little manerism's that no one else would be able to pull off. It has its serious moments as well, showing how great of an actress Garner is...as well as Mark Ruffalo whom you can't help but fall for. For some it is a walk down memory lane, for others, a reminder of those akward jr high years. The music does not disapoint! The soundtrack is a must have for all 80's fans. You'll leave wanting to dance around the aisles singing "Love Is A Battlefield". You'll smile and start tapping your foot, watching a group dance to "Thriller". (Just try to imagine Andy Serkis in his Gollum role the whole time) All in all a happy warm movie for anyone who loves to laugh enjoy! A defenate buy for me when it comes out! I rate this movie:

Here we go again...The Day After Tomorrow (PG-13). Starring Dennis Quaid ( Dragonheart, Frequency, The Rookie), Jake Gyllenhaal ( The Good Girl, October Sky), Ian Holm ( Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Fifth Element, A Life Less Ordinary) and Sela Ward (TV Once and Again, The Fugitive). Director: Roland Emmerich . A professor, Adrian (Quaid) realizes that with global warming and the greenhouse effect together increasing over the years, the world will drastically change and storms will insue, causing the next Ice Age. Unfortunatly, it wasn't hundreds of years away, like he thought. It was much much sooner. Storms begin to rumble throughout the world taking cities out one by one. Adrian decided he has no choice but to hike to NYC, where his son Sam (Gyllenhaal) is on a school trip. NYC as well as the majority of the upper states and other countries are starting to turn cold and snow. Sam, along with his friends, are holed up in a library, unsure of what to do next. Hundreds of people are with them. After wise words from his father to stay put Sam does everything he can to convince the others to not go outside. He takes over and does what he can to save everyone with him. In the meantime his father and two associates are trecking from DC to NYC in snow snow and more snow. No one knows what tomorrow will bring, or if there will be a tomorrow. All they can do is wait... I found this movie to be quite good. It draws you in from the start, with the action starting fairly quickly. If you can understand what they smart guys are talking about, good...if not, you'll soon figure it out as the movie goes on. Just don't get annoyed by the several opening storylines...once thats down with you're in for a ride. The special effects made it so real and only made it better. You can't get up for popcorn or drink, you are so stuck in on it. There was not a single whisper in the theater the whole time. While some of the acting was a bit lacking, and the typicalities were there (i.e. someone predicts it, no one believes them so they themselves have to save the whole world), it was all in all a fantastic fit for our annual-summer-end-of-the-world-everyones-gonna-die-movie. Intense and mesmorizing is all i can say. If you like seeing a lot of storms and screaming, watch this movie! I rate it:

((NO PICTURE))Okay Catwoman. I will not waste my time with a picture for this movie. Starring: Halle Barry ( Monsters Ball, X-Men), Sharon Stone ( Cold Creek Manor, Diabolique) and Benjimin Bratt ( Miss Congeneality, The Next Best Thing) Directed by: Jean-Christophe Comar While I would love to tell you all about this movie. I can't. I only saw the first half hour before giving up completely. So I can give you no summary. From what I saw this woman Patience Philips is a clumzy quiet skiddish woman who works for a big beauty company as a graphic designer. Well, she meets a cop (Bratt) and then finds out the her company is doing bad things and then she dies and is brought back to life by cats. And then she slowly turns into a cat. As I said, I wish I oculd give you more. But I can't. Not only was I bored out of my mind, but the storyline was bad and the camera work, while trying to be all hip and fancy, was horrible. I can usually find something good about any movie. The best I can say with this is....well....from what I saw Sharon Stone played a great villain. Halle Barry on the other hand....while I think Catwoman should have been played by a different actress, it still would have been a bad movie. Unless you don't pay or unless you have nothing better to do, I don't adise seeing this movie. I don't pay for movies and I walked out. It is teaching todays children the wrong thing about Catwoman. This is NOT Catwoman and it should not be called Catwoman. It is nothing more then a hairball. I rate this movie:

Since I never got around to this movie....better late then never!! Staring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Maggie Smith, Micheal Gamboon, Robbie Coltraine, Alan Rickman...and more.... Directed by: Alfonso Cuaron It's Harry's third year at Hogwarts and everything is going on. The story begins with Harry running away from home at his Aunt and Uncle's house, unsure of where to go and what to do. He gets picked up however by a wizards bus. The bus takes him to the wizards town where he meets up with his friends and finds out about Sirius Black who has escaped from the prision Askaban. He was being held for murder. Harry later finds out that Sirius is being held for his parents' murder. Harry goes on to learn how to fight the dementors who guard the prision and seem to be after Harry. Harry and his friends go through a more emotional journey in this story, and do all they can to survive. My thoughts...I LOVE this movie!!!! I must admit it could have been better by including more, but it was long as it was. This movie is a lot darker and more mature then the previous two. For two simple reasons. A new director and the third book was more mature as well. It felt a little different then the first two..okay a lot different...but that is not a bad thing. The three main actors are growing and learning wonderfully. All three were fabulous. It was sad Dumbledore being a different actor, but Micheal Gamboon did well. He wasn't the same, but he was a very good choice. Gary Oldman was amaizing. All to be said at that. This movie is THE movie of the summer and I will watch it as many times as I possibly can, I am already counting the days for it to come out on dvd. I rate this movie:
