I have been reading these books since I saw the first movie. They stuck tothe story line very well until you get to the third movie.
Alot of things are different from the book in the third movie.
Like in the book merry didn't go to Mordor because he was still hurt from stabing the ringwraths and when the four hobbits got back to the Shire they had to fight to take it back from these ruffians. (men of Saurman)
Everythign was a disaster when they got back not all peaceful like it was in the movie.
Interesting stuff
